Beware of the old man in a profession where men die young.

A good slugfest will always be fun to watch, but if you add context to it, that’s what turns it into a classic. One piece has mastered giving weight to when punches are finally thrown it either builds up to it within that arc or through implied or foreshadowing. But Garp vs Kuzan is a bit unique with its execution, the history these two have, the opposing ideals but respect for one another it’s only given to us in glimpses flashing between the punches even in the impact frames. Just like with the sentiment of some things can only be conveyed through an exchange of fists. I am a big fan of Crows zero movies it’s not the best, but I appreciate its heart, and this fight kinda uses that concept a bit but through Garp and Aokiji, characters we’ve always known to be super strong in the verse and Oda and the amazing animators at Toei did not disappoint. it’s so good I knew I needed to draw something for it.
